Finally after weeks of intending to, Mum and me made time to make some almond rocks! I’ve grown up relishing her chocolate treat and now its time for me to learn. It wasn’t as good as hers, but close! Just cut the almond into lengthwise shreds (4 shreds an almond) or breath wise into 2-3 pieces an almond. Now roast them in the over for a good 10-15 minutes, make sure ure watching since all ovens vary and the one I used is really small so it got warm much faster. Pop them out when done and let it sit there to watch the show.

Break the chocolates into small pieces so they are able to melt evenly. Some big and some small will cause a bit of a problem. Place it over the gas (double boiler), or microwave it to melt and blend. You can also grate the chocolate and pop it into the over, but I’ve never tried the oven method (maybe the idea of grating slab after slab would be a good way to burn what the end product will add in terms of calories! :P)

Once melted, mix together so the chocolate is smooth and creamy looking (willy wonka would be proud). Quickly take off the heat, mix in the almonds well and spoon over onto wrapping foil and leave to set in the fridge, if it’s HOT outside like it is right now. READY….STEADY….GO!!!

It’s so quick and such a treat for all ages, instant wipe out. Make sure to make lots!
